The Buzz is a regular summary of housing market news and data driving our decision-making at BlueBid.
Here's the Buzz for the week of September 24, 2025:
Compass is combining with Anywhere Real Estate to become the largest brokerage in the world. Anywhere brands include Coldwell Banker, Century 21, ERA, Sotheby's, Corcoran, and Better Homes and Gardens.
Fast Company says the deal gives Compass, America's largest brokerage by sales volume, leverage in its fight against Zillow - and the MLS itself - to loosen restrictions on the marketing of non-MLS homes.
Fannie Mae expects mortgage rates below 6% will result in 500,000 additional home sales in 2026.
Relief can't come soon enough, as Redfin observes existing-home sales at the lowest level since 1995.
Have a great week.
