The Buzz is a regular summary of housing market news and data driving our decision-making at BlueBid.

Here's the Buzz for the week of September 24, 2025:

  • Compass is combining with Anywhere Real Estate to become the largest brokerage in the world. Anywhere brands include Coldwell Banker, Century 21, ERA, Sotheby's, Corcoran, and Better Homes and Gardens.

  • Fast Company says the deal gives Compass, America's largest brokerage by sales volume,  leverage in its fight against Zillow - and the MLS itself - to loosen restrictions on the marketing of non-MLS homes.

  • Fannie Mae expects mortgage rates below 6% will result in 500,000 additional home sales in 2026.

  • Relief can't come soon enough, as Redfin observes existing-home sales at the lowest level since 1995.

Have a great week.
