Here's the Buzz for the week of October 8, 2025:
Redfin explains why homebuyers are backing out of deals at a record rate.
While most homebuyers won't be directly affected by the government shutdown, Realtor.com says the uncertainty that comes with a lengthy shutdown could weigh on home sales.
Investors are making up the highest share of homebuyers in 5 years, according to CNBC.
Fannie Mae published the results of its most recent National Housing Survey this week, and the survey reveals a disconnect between buyers and sellers. 73% of buyers believe it's a bad time to buy, while 57% of sellers believe it's a good time to sell.
CNN further explores a housing market where sales are stalling, but home prices keep climbing.
