The Buzz is a regular summary of housing market news and data driving our decision-making at BlueBid.
Here's the Buzz for the week of April 30, 2025:
CNN says tariffs and stock market volatility are clouding spring home shopping season, and Realtor.com reports existing home sales plunged to the slowest pace since 2009 in March.
Mortgage data tells a similar story, as CNBC writes weekly mortgage demand plunged nearly 13% last week.
A recent state-by-state report card on affordability and homebuilding published by Realtor.com shows 7 states in the northeast and west receiving failing grades.
Per NBC News, homebuilders are planning for a slower and pricier year ahead.
Fannie May recently updated its 2025 economic and housing outlook to reflect fewer transactions and higher prices than initially forecasted.
Despite scary housing headlines dominating the news, we're seeing a monthly uptick in selling activity at BlueBid.
Have a great week.
