The Buzz is a regular summary of housing market news and data driving our decision-making at BlueBid.

Here's the Buzz for the week of April 30, 2025:

  • CNN says tariffs and stock market volatility are clouding spring home shopping season, and Realtor.com reports existing home sales plunged to the slowest pace since 2009 in March.

  • Mortgage data tells a similar story, as CNBC writes weekly mortgage demand plunged nearly 13% last week.

  • A recent state-by-state report card on affordability and homebuilding published by Realtor.com shows 7 states in the northeast and west receiving failing grades.

  • Per NBC News, homebuilders are planning for a slower and pricier year ahead.

  • Fannie May recently updated its 2025 economic and housing outlook to reflect fewer transactions and higher prices than initially forecasted.

  • Despite scary housing headlines dominating the news, we're seeing a monthly uptick in selling activity at BlueBid

Have a great week.
